Ghana Health Service to address gaps in care delivery.


Ghana Health Service says it is taking steps to address shortfalls in the country’s healthcare delivery system.
Chairman of the Governing Council, Dr. Yao Yeboah, says a nationwide training and orientation programme for personnel is set to be rolled out month.

He was speaking at the Annual Regional Community Health Improvement Services (CHIPS) Forum in Kumasi.
Dr. Yeboah indicates attitudinal change toward patients and other clients will be at the centre of the exercise.
He says the health service will orient its personnel both the newly enrolled and old members.

Dr. Yeboah advised that  all health personnel should be conscious about their relations because no matter the best health care they give their attitudes will determine how competent the service .
Country Director of Millennium Promise, Chief Nat Nsarko, disclosed CHIPS will be extended to every community in Ghana by 2030.
He says it will ensure early detection of diseases through potent community health workers.

Chief Nat commends the current leadership of the Youth Employment Agency for their zeal to at the community health workers module.
He added that the one million community health  workers campaign  of millennium promise  is deeply committed to supporting Ghana’s  strive towards universal health  coverage. 

As part of  jointly identify and experimenting  cutting edge solution  towards universal health coverage  , they donated 1,000 smart phones ,2 motorbikes,2,500 t-shirts and 1,000 backpacks all estimated at 545,000 Ghana Cedis to the project districts through regional health directorates.
Ashanti Regional Director for Youth Employment Agency, Nelson Owusu Ansah, says the agency is undertaking recruitment to unemployment.
